National Service Criminal History Check

National Service Criminal History Checks (NSCHC) is a baseline screening requirement established by law to protect the beneficiaries of national service.

Citizenship and Social Security Verification

- To verify eligibility to serve as an AmeriCorps member, you will upload an attachment of any of the following combination of documents to the Greenhouse Onboarding. You may provide either Options 1, 2 or 3 below. Whichever option you choose, you must provide the full list of each option. For example if you choose option 1 you must submit both your US Passport and your Social Security Card. Please label each document you upload with your last name and document title (i.e. Shaw Passport or Shaw SS Card).

TrueScreen NSOPW & State Criminal Background Check(s)

AmeriCorps approved TrueScreen to provide state and National Sex Offender Public Website (NSOPW) checks to recipients. This task will arrive in your inbox only after you have completed the Citizenship and Social Security Verification and the FieldPrint FBI Fingerprinting Appointment.

TrueScreen FBI Fingerprinting Appointment

A fingerprint-based FBI background check is a part of AmeriCorps’ NSCHC requirement. You will need to schedule and complete a fingerprinting appointment through the vendor TrueScreen. This task is initiated via email. You cannot begin the fingerprinting process until you have received the email. Please follow the step-by-step guide here.

We cannot use fingerprints from a third party. If you had recent fingerprinting done through a different organization we cannot accept them. You must complete your fingerprints through FieldPrint to successfully complete this task.

My AmeriCorp Enrollment

The release of the MyAmeriCorps enrollment site is contingent upon the AmeriCorps grant cycle. AmeriCorps staff (not GO staff) have primary ownership of this task.

Typically in mid-July you will receive an invitation to enroll in MyAmeriCorps in your personal email. The email will prompt you to complete your MyAmeriCorps portal registration and enrollment in the MyAmeriCorps portal. Please note this email may arrive in your spam folder.
